Announcing 20 - a new CD from the Toronto Jazz Orchestra

Since 1998, the Toronto Jazz Orchestra has been producing some of the most exciting big band concerts in the city. In 2018, we’ll turn 20. And to celebrate, we’ve recorded a new CD.

For three days in May, 2017, we were at Revolution Recording, one of Toronto’s top studios, along with the outstanding support team of producer Roberto Occhipinti and engineer John “Beetle” Bailey, to record 20 - an album which aims to capture the evolution of the band over the past 20 years.

But 20 is also a deeply personal project. When I started the band in 1998, I wanted to perform repertoire which an audience wouldn’t hear anywhere else. For the first time in nearly 20 years, I have a body of my own work - original compositions and arrangements - which I felt was ready for the recording studio.

We've had outstanding support from the Ontario Arts Council, the Toronto Arts Council and a variety of private supporters. And we're almost there! With your help, we can raise the funds required to complete the recording, and ensure everyone is properly compensated for their efforts.

We've created a fundraising campaign on Fundrazr, with the goal of raising $5,000 towards the completion of the project. Use the widget on the left side of this screen, or join the campaign here: pre-order a CD, reserve your spot at the release party, sponsor a tune or invite us into your home for a private concert - any contribution helps.

We appreciate the consistent support you've shown the Toronto Jazz Orchestra for nearly 20 years, and hope you'll contribute "one more once."
